Annabel Cardigan

Last winter I found a Gap sweater at the local thrift store with the tags still on.  100% wool and brand new.  I unraveled it and knit up this sweater.  It was good to be re-purposing and definitely more affordable.  I knit this during working hours and on lots of car trips.  When it was done I went a local knitting store and found these abalone buttons.  It knit up pretty easily.  From the top down.  This pattern is by Carrie Bostick Hoge.   I found this pattern on Quince & Co.   I finished it just as the air is changing and everything is a little crisper and golden outside.   This weather also has me wondering what my next knitting project will be.  Sweater, scarf, socks, mittens,   hmmmmm.

Rain, Rain

A letter came in the mail from Barbara Kingsolver.  She is busy working on her new novel that should be out soon.
Emily is knitting a scarf.  She started that on her own.
As part of the theme at school, Eli is building a pin ball machine.  I keep wanting it bigger, out of wood n'things.  He prefers the Cheerios box.  A kind of Gallimoto.
Emily has a new curling iron.  Look at those lovely curls.

The rain has come.  Such a dry, warm winter and now the rain is here.  It's provided the chance to do things inside.  Knitting, building toys, trying out new hair styles and reading.  Kind of nice and my garden is fairing okay.
